Administrator
[stika lo krasi]coi. pier.
You are now an administrator. There are instructions on how to use your administrator powers in the administrators' how-to guide on the English Wikipedia.
I have also made you a bureaucrat so that you can turn other users into sysops. This is done using the Special:makesysop page. There are instructions on using this at m:Bureaucrat.
If you have any problems, let me know on my talk page at en, or leave a note on m:Requests for permissions. Good luck. la .endjalas 13:22, 8 Aug 2004 (UTC)
p.s. Is "la .endjalas" the right way to write Angela in Lojban?

I believe that page controls which page is retrieved when you go to http://jbo.wikipedia.org/ and is also e.g. the link behind the globe at the top left of the pages (at least in the skin I'm using). Having MediaWiki retrieve Main Page only to redirect to Ralju papri each time is wasteful IMO when it could retrieve Ralju papri directly.
See, for example, de:MediaWiki:Mainpage, which says simply "Hauptseite", or pl:MediaWiki:Mainpage, which shows how to indicate a page name with spaces (viz., simply include spaces in the text of the page).
Or, if you wish, make me co-administrator and I will make the change.

Thanks for the advice on how I should write my name. You might want to ask Timwi to check your language file as he not only has experience of doing this, but has shown support in the past for the more controversial languages so might be more willing to do this than Tim Starling is. Timwi will be able to upload it to CVS and then someone with shell access can easily put it live once they know he has checked it. enjylys 03:48, 10 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Translation of the week
[stika lo krasi]Currently we have started a project on meta.wikipedia to get an article translated in as many wikipedias as possible every week. The article will be about a subject that usually gets rarely translated and has a lot of links to other subjects. Currently we have no-one to translate in your language. If someone is interested to participate please see: meta:Translation of the week You can also submit articles from your own languages there that you think deserve translation, but have a small chance of it. The articles must not be to short and not to long and have lots of links to possible other articles! en:user:Waerth

Lojban Translation Issues
[stika lo krasi]Pierre, I think that some Lojban words from Wikipedia terminology used on the main page require revision:
- cuktrhuiki is far from being elegant. I suggest skamrviki. - Yanis Batura, 13 January 2006
- -viki sounds better than -xuiki to me too, but I think a wiki is more like a book than a computer, even though it's hosted on a computer. xorxes has proposed uitki on jbovlaste. pei? mu'omi'e Pier 15:01, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- "Wiki" is a computer term, not a type of a book: en:Wiki.

Betawiki: better support for your language in MediaWiki
[stika lo krasi]Dear community. I am writing to you to promote a special wiki called Betawiki. This wiki facilitates the localisation (l10n) of the MediaWiki interface. You may have changed many messages here to use your language in the interface, but if you would log in to for example the Japanese language Wiktionary, you would not be able to use the interface as well translated as here. In fact, of 1,736 messages in the core of MediaWiki, 0.57% of the messages have been translated. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages for 126 extensions, with 2,174 messages. Many of them are used in WMF projects and they are vital for understanding the wiki. Currently 0.00% of the WMF extension messages have been translated. Translators for over 90 languages contribute their work to MediaWiki this way every month.
If you wish to contribute to better support of your language in MediaWiki, as well as for many MediaWiki extensions, please visit Betawiki, create an account and request translator privileges. You can see the current status of localisation of your language on MediaWiki.org and do not forget to get in touch with others that may already be working on your language on Betawiki.
If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talk page on Betawiki. We will try and assist you as much as possible, for example by importing all messages from a local wiki for you to start with, if you so desire.
You can also find us on the Freenode IRC network in the channel #mediawiki-i18n where we will be happy to help you get started.
Thank you very much for your attention and I do hope to see some of you on Betawiki soon! Thanks, Malafaya@Betawiki 16:13, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Country template
[stika lo krasi]Hello! I am the user known as Homo logos in the spanish wikipedia, I have been having some trouble with my Username here currently Tadre'as so I think I'll take Homo logos here as well.
But what I wanted to talk to you about is that I have been working to make a Country Template similar to the one used in most wikipedias to summarize important information of countries, the template I have taken as a model is es:Plantilla:Ficha de país from the spanish wikipedia. After creating the template: Template:gugde cartu I have had trouble to make it work: The borders won't display correctly and it won't allow text to be shown to it's sides.
So I contacted en:User:Teratornis in the english wikipedia, and he told me to contact the administrators of the lojban wikipedia for the following reasons:
- Your description of the problem makes it sound like the template is trying to use a CSS style class which is present on the Spanish Wikipedia but not on the Lojban Wikipedia (possibly: class="infobox geography"). On the English Wikipedia, the style classes are in the MediaWiki:Common.css file, which has several entries beginning with:
/* Styles for geography infoboxes, e.g. countries, country subdivisions, cities, etc. */ .infobox.geography { text-align: left; border-collapse: collapse; line-height: 1.2em; font-size: 90%; }
- I'm guessing you will need to add the same style classes to whatever the MediaWiki:Common.css file is on the Lojban Wikipedia. I see only a deleted page entry for jbo:MediaWiki:Common.css. If the filename is supposed to be the same in Lojban, that would be a problem right there.
I don't quite understand what style classes are, but I hope you'll be able to solve this along with Telatornis so we can have this templates in the lojban wikipedia. --Tadre'as 19:17, 1 la pamast. 2009 (UTC)

connectivity project
[stika lo krasi]Hallo, my name is Anastasiya Lvova, I'm "duty" in Connectivity project. The essence of the "Connectivity" project is to study and enhance the coherence of Wikipedia, or, in other words, to improve hypertext navigation between articles. The project deals with deadends, isolated articles, non-categorized articles, transitivity of the category tree, etc.
We want to work with your language version, but we need configured MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage for it (with direct links to template namespace pages, for example, ru:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage/de:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage/fr:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage). Is it possible to set it up for our usage?
thanks in advance, Lvova 18:31, 13 xavma'i 2010 (UTC)
Problem with main page.
[stika lo krasi]Hey, the language list on the main page of the wiki is screwed up -- as far as I can tell, a bot added a bunch of interwiki-links on the main page of this wiki to the "Calculation" sub-page of the other language wikis. I got rid of the problem on the other language wikis, but I can't edit it out of the main page on here since the page is protected. Could you revert the latest edit by JAnDbot? Thanks! - Cataria 19:42, 11 ianvari 2011 (UTC)

Your admin status (Pier)
[stika lo krasi]Hello. I'm a steward. A new policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus recently. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing administrators' activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.
You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on jbowiki, where you are an administrator and a bureaucrat. Since jbowiki does not have its own administrators' rights review process, the global one applies.
If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights, and demonstrate a continued requirement to maintain these rights.
We stewards will evaluate the responses. If there is no response at all after approximately one month, we will proceed to remove your administrative rights. In cases of doubt, we will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact us on m:Stewards' noticeboard.
